SPI To Train 12 CYA Legacy Teams-Spring 2008

A partnership based on development

Soccer Performance International is proud to begin its’ 8th year with CYA soccer! The partnership between the two organizations is one based on education of both players and coaches. This successful partnership has impacted over 4,000 players and 520 coaches through a training program tailored to meet the specific needs of CYA. Over the past 7 years CYA members have enjoyed and benefited from weekend training sessions on skills development along with practical instruction for parent coaches.

Since CYA believes that player development begins with a proper coaches’ education, SPI licensed trainer’s aid in the transition of new coaches and further develop the seasoned coach. SPI offers a well rounded program consisting of classroom training on the "Fundamentals of Coaching", skills training sessions, and team visits. SPI is also proud to have played a role in the certification of over 300 CYA coaches through the Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA).

In the spring 2008 and as part of a growing CYA Legacy Program, SPI will begin training the six new U-9 travel teams "graduating" from the clubs recreational program along side of the six U10 teams. Many of these players have been trained by SPI since they were U-5 and participated in the HUGS program! These teams will be playing in all three of the local area leagues (WAGS, NCSL and ODSL). The Legacy Program will have SPI professionally licensed trainers working closely with CYA coaches in all facets of team and player development.

The principal of educating players and coaches will continue to be the focus of a successful relationship between both organizations.
