SPI To Coach 15 CYA-Cesena Travel Teams-Fall 2011

 A partnership based on development

Soccer Performance International is proud to begin its’ 12th year with CYA soccer! The partnership between the two organizations is one based on education of both players and coaches. This successful partnership has impacted over 5,000 players and 520 coaches through a training program tailored to meet the specific needs of CYA. Over the past 11 years CYA members have enjoyed and benefited from weekend training sessions on skills development along with practical instruction for parent coaches.

In the fall 2011 and as part of a growing CYA-Cesena Program, SPI will coach 15 travel teams and, as part of the CYA Travel Development Program, continue training non-CYA Cesena travel teams. The majority of the players in both of these programs have a long history with SPI; many starting out at age 5 with our HUGS program!

All the team coached and trained by SPI at CYA play in one of three of the local area leagues (WAGS, NCSL and ODSL). The CYA Cesena Program will have SPI professionally licensed coaches and assistants working closely with A.C. Cesena in Italy designing curriculums and evaluating players.

Beginning in the fall of this year, SPI will re-focus a spotlight on coaches’ education. CYA believes that player development begins with proper “recreational” coaches’ education and SPI licensed trainers will aid in the transition of “new” coaches within the CYA “house” program. SPI will offer a well-rounded program consisting of classroom training on the "Fundamentals of Coaching", skills training sessions, and random team visits. SPI is also proud to have played a role in the certification of over 300 CYA coaches through the Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA).

Our joint commitment to player and coach education will continue to be the focus of a successful relationship between both Chantilly Youth Association and Soccer Performance International.
