The WPSL announced its partnership with Soccer Performance International (SPI) LLC based out of South Riding, Virginia. The WPSL will work closely with SPI to establish a global “footprint” for the league by facilitating international projects aimed to clearing a pathway for league players to play abroad.

“We are proud of the partnership with the WPSL” said Andy Vera, President and Chief Executive Officer Soccer Performance International LLC.

"The global landscape of women’s football is shifting as more countries professionalize the game. SPI and the WPSL are prepared to provide our players with every possible playing option” Vera noted. Along with its strong knowledge of the international market, SPI brings to the league a team of strong branding and marketing partners prepared to connect players with clubs and sponsors around the globe.

The first phase of a multi-phased approach calls for the following; the establishment of regional WPSL International Player Combines and the introduction of high-level international educational opportunities that will provide our WPSL coaches a perspective on what player characteristics international clubs look for in their players.

As the WPSL prepares to be the showcase league for all their 140+ clubs and thousands of athletes, SPI prepares play a critical role at a time of historic change in women professional sports.
