WPSL-SPI International Combine - Vermont Fusion

Due to US State Dept. imposed travel restrictions the Vermont Combine is being postponed until spring 2022!

US State Department Travel Restrictions Force Event Postponement !

Due to the US State Departments travel restrictions not allowing our European Coaches and team scouts to enter the US, WPSL and SPI are forced to postpone the International Combine hosted by Vermont Fusion. The event will now be held in spring 2022 at the same Manchester, Vermont venue.

Andy Vera, SPI President had this to say after a phone conversation with WPSL President, Sean Jones, “One of the main benefits of our combines is that our players get evaluated and recommended by European/international coaches as part of their participation. This is a fundamental piece in our objective to get many of our players affiliated within European leagues and “high-level” clubs. Having no access to our over-seas coaches unfortunately, puts a halt on our plans…it’s a very frustrating situation.”

Mr. Vera followed up with this on the possibility of an early fall 2021 reschedule date, “We’ve discussed the option of a November Combine in Vermont but we are risking it with the uncertainty of the NE weather.”

SPI is now considering early May 2022 as a possible reschedule window for the Vermont (NE) Combine. Final dates will be decided on in the next few weeks and posted on both WPSL and SPI websites.

Both SPI and the WPSL are now looking at Dallas, Texas as a possible venue for a combine in December 2021. It is anticipated that dates will be confirmed by this coming Saturday, July 10th.
